Our Leadership

Bernie Stevens, President and CEO

Mr. Stevens serves as President and CEO of PowerNet Global since founding the telecommunications company in 1992. With over two decades of experience in the telecom industry, he has obtained a wide range of turnaround and sales management knowledge. Prior to founding PNG, he served as president and general manager for an electronics distribution company, as well as general and sales manager for various consumer electronics companies. In 2004, he was honored by the Association for Corporate Growth with the annual Deal Maker/Entrepeneur of the Year Award.

Mr. Stevens is actively involved in his community, serving on the Board of Directors for Waumba Camp Ministry, while also volunteering and contributing to many other charitable organizations, encouraging employees of PNG to do the same.

  Basil Kanno, Chief Information Officer

Mr. Kanno serves as Chief Information Officer of PNG. He has over 16 years of comprehensive information systems experience with expertise across a wide range of systems and applications. At PowerNet Global, he ensures that all facets of the business are properly supported by the internal systems from process reengineering to product rollouts. Mr. Kanno also serves as President of Buzz360, a division of PowerNet Global which focuses on providing mobile marketing solutions. As President of Buzz360, he is responsible for establishing the vision and direction of the division.

Prior to joining the company in 1999, he was a Senior Consultant with Ernst & Young as part of their telecommunications practice and also worked at EXL Information Corp., where he managed strategic systems development for their flagship telecommunications billing product. Mr. Kanno earned his Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Computer Science from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia.
